FROM ATHLETE TO EXPERT
My name is Monika Morawitzova and I come from Brno, Czech Republic.
I discovered artistic swimming at the age of five and fell in love with this beautiful sport. After 16 years as an athlete, competing in numerous national and international competitions, I transitioned into coaching in 2011 at my home club.
Over the years, I’ve coached swimmers of all age groups and levels. From 2017 to 2020, I served as assistant coach of the Czech Youth & Junior National Teams. After a short maternity break, I accepted the position of Junior National Coach for Austria, where I worked from 2022 until 2025.
Alongside coaching, I’ve also pursued officiating. In 2015, I became a World Aquatics (FINA) Judge and currently hold the AQUA Silver Category. Since 2023, I have also been accredited as a World Aquatics Technical Controller for Difficulty & Synchronisation (Bronze Category).
I’ve had the privilege to judge at multiple World and European Championships, COMEN Cups and to serve as a Technical Controller at national competitions in Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, and Belgium.
With a lifetime dedicated to artistic swimming, I’ve gained a deep understanding of all aspects of the sport — from coaching and judging to technical development.
Now, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and supporting coaches, judges, clubs, and national teams on their journey to grow, improve, and achieve their goals.
For me, artistic swimming is not just a sport —
it’s a way of life..
